~Alternate Future~
The year is 2192. 50 years ago, a small planet located on the edge of an inconsequential galaxy was completely destroyed in a large meteor shower the inhabitants could not prevent. That planet was Earth.
Fortunately, due to advancements in science, the meteor shower was predicted early enough for the people of earth to take action. In the face of this certain catastrophe, the government of the former United States was forced to reveal to the public the Space Gateway Project, a highly clandestine military program involving an extra-terrestrial built inter-galactic transport system. Through this system, humans and animals alike were able to travel to another galaxy, making their home on a planet very similar to Earth.
Not all, however, chose to leave the doomed planet. Some didn’t believe the warnings of deadly meteor showers. Others were simply too afraid to go, choosing rather to risk death in the familiar than to risk the unfamiliar. While most of the planet was demolished beyond recognition by the meteors, some portions were left in tact and there was a significant group of survivors hanging on when it ended. Those “lucky” few, nonetheless, did not come out of the ordeal entirely unscathed.
The rocks that fell from the sky to Earth were, in fact, the refuse that the scientists of Muksedge, an advanced race from the Triangulum System had carelessly rid themselves of, in rock form. Much of their experimentation involved the manipulation of DNA and genetics, and as a result, those left alive on Earth were experienced varying peculiar changes in their mental and physical capabilities and physique that could not be otherwise explained.
Meanwhile, on Aibdor Tertius, the transplanted Earthans, a term used by IS members initially in a derogatory manner, were dealing with their new surroundings…and coping with quite a few new neighbors. Though the inhabitants of Earth had been previously ignored as insignificant, their new location in the Tri-System region changed the opinions of many. In order to secure their new home as well as safety, the world leaders of Earth under the authority of the newly formed Alliance of Nations agreed to become part of the Imperium of Systems. This put the leaders, as well as all of those from Earth under subjection to the laws and rulings of the IS Council.
The arrangement worked out quite well for the Earthans, and the native residents of nearby planets eventually became trading partners and friends with those from Earth. In a short manner of time, however, it was revealed that a sinister corruption had a hold of the IS Council at its core. Restrictions on trade and travel became tighter, and costs became higher. Very soon, elements of daily life, considered to be implicit freedoms, were beginning to be taken away in the Council’s greed for control.
But where there is great vice and corruption in the ruling forces, a rebellion nearly always arises to fight it. In this dark time for the universe, hope came out from the shadows of groups from all over the Tri-System area, under the name of Temporary Stars. The resistance force, led by an Earthan known only as Ren, has sought to bring down the government through reconnaissance and sabotage of the IS forces, the Imperium of Systems Defense. Though small in number, the TS is growing almost daily, and has so far evaded capture and loss at the hands of the IS Defense.
In order to complete a total end to the tyranny of the IS, though, Ren and his leadership team know that they will need more assistance. A small branch of the Temporary Stars, led by his second-in-command, Maxwell Shephard is headed back to Earth to enlist the aid of any willing survivors. The TS director himself, leading his A-team on a captured Imperium of Systems OMI (Orbital Medium Infiltrator) is headed for the Triangulum Galaxy, the rumored current residence of the Edoan Rogues. This most infamous pirate fleet of the Tri-system area is the precise reason for his journey. Ren hopes to form a temporary alliance with the leader of the Rogues, Commodore Narrah Odet, to procure even more aid in taking down the IS Defense.
Now all members of every race, occupation, and reputation must make a choice. Will you remain loyal to the Tri-System government of the Imperium of Systems, join the forces of the building resistance movement through the Temporary Stars, or watch from the sidelines and hope for the best? Because in the end, there will be no middle ground – the pending war will be final and you determine who will win.
